Eyitayo Jegede SAN during the just concluded Ondo State Governorship election polled over 193,000 votes based on official result by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). Jegede, the Peoples Democratic Party also won in three local government areas; Akure South, Akure North and Ifedore.

Although, the contest on ballot paper has been completed by Jegede is moving forward with his integrity, street credibility and huge political capital intact.

In a contest when many people participated only one person will emerge winner and that doesn’t turn other candidates to failure. Jegede ran a race good and fought like a dogged with humility. He visited all the 18 local government areas of the canvassing for votes and marketing his manifesto laced with fresh ideas towards advancing the state.

Nobody doubts his street credibility and acceptability among large numbers of electorate but the end justifies the mean in Nigeria’s political setting. People don’t really care about the sanctity of the process but focused on securing victory by all means.
Inspite the outcome of Saturday’s election, Jegede still shines as he proved his worth and political sagacity by giving incumbent governor as well as the All Progressives Congress (APC) run for their money. He also shows that his participation is for common good of the people and move to deepen good governance in Ondo state.

The Akure born politician latest outing shown improvement on his performance compare to 2016 governorship election. He gave good account of himself despite running against the incumbent governor and deputy with numerous factors to their advantage.

Eyitayo Jegede however didn’t lose the gentle TAYO in himself. He avoided campaign of calumny against his opponents in the face of blackmails, name calling and unintelligent propaganda. He never soil his hard earned reputation and about 30 years of excellent career in legal profession to become governor. His actions point to the fact that he is in politics to add value and impact peoples’ lives positive.

Jegede will continue to put Ondo people FIRST and do everything within his capacity to improve wellbeing of the people, and support process of developing our dear state. Eyitayo Jegede is moving forward to greater heights.
