Wife of the Oni of Ife, Olori Silekunola Naomi, former Presidential candidate, Dr. Thomas Ikubese and Publisher of Sahara Reporters, Omoyele Sowore, represented by Allen Sowore were part of dignitaries who graced the naming ceremony of the baby given birth to by an Endsars protester, Kemisola Ogunnniyi, who delivered in prison last week after spending 8months in detention.
The baby was christened Okikioluwa, Erinponmile, Eri’aanu, Oluwajomiloju, Mororeda, Ayomiposi, Erindamilare, Samuel, Elijah, Oluwadarasimi, Oluwanifemi, Aduragbemi, Oluwapamilerin and Moraanugba.
The baby’s naming ceremony was held at the Vera Christian Assembly, Temiasese, Parish 2, Adegbola Akure, the Ondo state capital.
It would be recalled that Kemisola and three others were arrested during the wake of the#EndSars Protests in Akure the Ondo state capital and were charged for arson, conspiracy, riotous assembly, stealing and malicious damage of property.
This is just as the chairman of Skye hospital, Dr Ikubese Thomas-Wilson promised to foot the bill for the child’s nursery to secondary school education, as well as his medical bills.
Also, Oni’s wife has promised a life-long commitment to the welfare of the baby, stressing that she was touched by the story of the baby’s mother and the circumstances that sorounds the baby’s birth.
Mother of the baby, Kemisola Ogunnniyi who wears a joyous mood thanked them for the gesture, saying this will go a long way in helping her child attain the best in life.
The carnival-like christening ceremony had in attendance, family members, friends, Human Rights Activists, Journalists, well wishers, among others.
