Stop my monthly pension: “I have not benefited from my welfare package since I left office in 2011” – Gbenga Daniel Writes Ogun Govt

Former governor of ogun state, Otunba Gbenga Daniel has written Governor Dapo Abiodun to stop his monthly pension as a former State Governor.
Senator representing Ogun East, Gbenga Daniel in a letter dated June 14, 2023 requests for suspension of N676,376.95k pension/allowance.
The letter reads in part: “I wish to request for the suspension of my monthly pension/allowance of N676,376.95k being paid as a former executive Governor of Ogun State.
“The request is in compliance with my conscience, moral principle and ethical code against double emolument that a serving Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria who hitherto a former State Governor shall not be entitled to the payment of pension and allowance from such State.
He however noted that he not benefited from medical, furniture, transportation and others since 2011.
“It is pertinent to also have it on record that since I left the office in 2011, I have not benefited from my welfare package be it medical, furniture, transportation etc.”
