OYO NSCDC PRIVATE GUARD COMPANY TRAINS DIRECTORS OF PRIVATE SECURITY ON EFFECTIVE INFORMATION GATHERING
“Information gathering Is very key to effective security network of any society and a nation at large”.
This make the Private Guard Company (PGC) Department of the corps to embark on a day capacity building programme for directors and managers of Private Guard Companies in Oyo state.
While declaring the training open, the state Commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Dr Michael Adaralewa made it known that the significance of training and updating our knowledge on relevant subject matters In the security industry cannot be over emphasized. One of the ways to build our capacity in providing better security services for protection of lives and properties is to make training and re-training a topmost priority.
Commandant Adaralewa stated further that closeness of private security agencies especially to NSCDC because of their prompt information gathering that gives the corps the opportunity to nib crime in the bud in the state.
Meanwhile, the Head of department Private Guard Company of the command, Assistant Commandant Oyeniyi Oyeku expressed the need and importance of private security practice in the protection of lives and properties. During the seminar tagged: Safety and Security Management for Private Security Practitioners. He stated further that the objective of organising this seminar is to enhance the knowledge of participants on the rising security threats to safety of lives and properties and coverage on the innovative approaches to security management for solution.
The one day seminar comprises of Five (5) Lecturers who were able to do justice to the theme of the seminar, (I) ASC 1 Omotola Saheed who lectures on innovative Approaches to security management, (II) DCC Olusoji Akingbade, who spoke on the rising Security threat to safety of lives and Assets,(III) DSC Jude Olaniregun who delivers lectures on Technological Advancement in Security Management: Application of Artificial Intelligence in forensic Investigations, (IV) ASC1 Olatayo Olaoye, enhancing Recruitment and motivation for Security Guards, while the head of the department Assistant Commandant of the corps Oyeniyi Oyeku gave an important tips on Disaster and emergency preparedness.
While appreciating the management of the corps, the chairman of the Association of License Private Security Practitioners of Nigeria (ALPSPN) MR Seyi Alaba commended NSCDC and his private Guard Company Department for taking the security of lives and properties a paramount one and urge them to continue with this type of capacity Building Programme for more effective information gathering.
