Abiodun Coker, Team Lead, Media Relations at United Bank for Africa (UBA), has been recognised among Nigeria’s distinguished corporate personalities at the 2026 edition of The Industry Top 50 Men of Impact, earning recognition in the Impact Maker category.

Coker received the honour at a ceremony held on November 5, 2026, at the Lagos Oriental Hotel, Lagos, in recognition of his contributions to corporate communications, strategic media relations and brand development within Nigeria’s financial services industry and across Africa.

With more than 12 years of professional experience, Coker has built a reputation in strategic communications, playing an instrumental role in shaping UBA’s corporate narrative, strengthening its media engagement and enhancing the bank’s visibility across its African markets.

His professional expertise covers earned media strategy, crisis communications, executive media coaching and brand journalism. Through these areas, he has contributed to the development and execution of communication strategies designed to strengthen the bank’s corporate reputation, reinforce stakeholder confidence and sustain its position as a leading pan-African financial institution.

Presstv News Nigeria learnt that the 2026 edition of The Industry Top 50 Men of Impact was organised around the theme, “Responsibility and Impact: The Role of Men as Builders of Brands, Businesses and Society.”

The programme featured a high-level panel discussion followed by the presentation of certificates to 50 distinguished honourees recognised for their professional accomplishments, leadership qualities and contributions to business growth and societal development.

According to the organisers, the annual recognition platform celebrates Nigerian men whose leadership and professional achievements have contributed significantly to building enduring brands, developing successful businesses and creating positive social impact.

The selection process for the 2026 honourees reportedly involved an assessment of candidates’ professional achievements, entrepreneurial leadership, brand stewardship and contributions to society over the preceding year.

The event also provided an opportunity for industry leaders to examine the responsibilities of corporate executives in building sustainable businesses, creating employment opportunities and driving broader economic development.

Among the confirmed panellists were Franklin Ozekhome of Chain Reactions Africa, Stephen Onaivi of mediaReach OMD Nigeria, Yinka Adebayo of OMG WeCa, Omnicom Media Group, Otis Ojeikhoa of Brands Optimal Limited, and Emmanuel, Charis, Adediran, Business Unit Director and Head of Strategy.

The panel brought together professionals representing different segments of the marketing communications and brand management ecosystem, including advertising, media investment, experiential marketing and corporate strategy.

Led by Convener Goddie Offose, the organisers said the choice of panellists was informed by their respective contributions to the industry and their experience in developing brands, expanding business opportunities and delivering strategic solutions for major organisations.

The recognition of Coker further highlights the growing importance of strategic media relations and corporate storytelling in the banking industry, where effective communication remains essential to brand reputation, stakeholder engagement and institutional credibility.

For UBA, the honour represents recognition of the professional contributions of its media relations leadership and the role of effective corporate communications in strengthening the bank’s identity and influence across the African financial services landscape.
