Tinubu Tamed Atlantic Ocean, Now Tackling Nigeria’s Challenges – Princess Gloria Akobundu
Hon. Princess Gloria Akobundu, PhD, fsi, Secretary in charge of Faith-Based Mobilisation (Christians) in the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council (APC PCC), has declared that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s proven ability to confront and tame the Atlantic Ocean is clear evidence that he possesses the capacity, courage and competence to solve Nigeria’s most difficult national challenges.
While speaking to newsmen in Uyo during the APC Presidential Campaign Rally, the senior APC campaign official said Nigerians should look beyond political propaganda and focus on verifiable results as the 2027 general elections approach, Presstv News Nigeria can report.
“President Tinubu tamed the Atlantic Ocean. He is taming Nigeria’s challenges,” Hon. Princess Gloria Akobundu stated emphatically.
Hon. Akobundu, who also holds a doctorate and is a Fellow of the Security Institute (fsi), recalled the President’s recent remarks in Akwa Ibom State, where he drew a sharp contrast between his own record and that of other political figures. She noted that while some leaders avoided confronting environmental crises such as erosion, President Tinubu faced the destructive force of the Atlantic head-on.
According to her, the extensive shoreline protection works, coastal roads, drainage systems and land reclamation efforts associated with his leadership in Lagos remain visible and enduring proof of results rather than empty rhetoric.
“The Atlantic Ocean is not a small problem. It is a force of nature that has swallowed communities, roads and livelihoods across our coastline for decades. Anyone who successfully confronted it has already demonstrated the kind of leadership Nigeria desperately needs,” she said.
Speaking in her capacity as Secretary for Faith-Based Mobilisation (Christians) in the APC Presidential Campaign Council, Hon. Akobundu argued that Nigeria currently faces multiple complex and interconnected problems, insecurity, economic pressure, unemployment, infrastructure deficits, flooding and climate-related disasters. She maintained that only a leader with a demonstrated record of tackling tough, expensive and long-term issues should be trusted with the nation’s future.
“The same determination, strategic thinking and political will that confronted the Atlantic Ocean is exactly what Nigeria needs to confront banditry, terrorism, unemployment, poor infrastructure and every other challenge holding us back,” she declared.
Hon. Akobundu specifically urged women, youths and faith-based leaders across the country to take active steps towards participating in the 2027 electoral process.
She called on them to collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) without delay and to vote massively for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
“Women, youths and faith-based leaders must not stay on the sidelines. Collect your PVCs, organise your communities, and come out to vote for the re-election of President Tinubu. This is how we secure continuity of the progress already recorded and ensure that Nigeria continues to move forward,” she said.
She emphasised that the Christian community and other faith-based groups have a critical role to play in mobilising their members for peaceful and purposeful participation in the elections.
Hon. Princess Gloria Akobundu’s intervention carries significant weight within the APC campaign structure, particularly among Christian faith-based groups and mobilisers. Her comments add further momentum to a growing political narrative surrounding President Tinubu’s environmental and infrastructure record.
Hon. Akobundu concluded by urging Nigerians, particularly those in coastal and flood-prone communities, as well as faith-based organisations across the country, to carefully examine the records of all candidates.
“Leadership is not about running away from difficult problems. It is about confronting them, solving them, and delivering results that outlive political seasons. President Tinubu has shown he can do that. Nigeria needs that same spirit now more than ever. Let us collect our PVCs and vote for continuity,” she said.
