World Theatre Day Celebration: Damjay Gives Out Brand New Hummer Bus To TAMPAN
World Theatre Day is observed annually on March 27th. The International Theatre Institute created the day in 1961, and each year their message is spread across stages around the world through dramatic performances.The lights dim and the audience settles. As the curtain rises, months of preparation comes to fruition, and a story comes to life. World Theater Day celebrates the importance of theater arts as it continues to move, entertain, teach and brings improvement to the world of theatre globally.
Due to the outbreak of COVID-19 Pandemic, Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association, the National Executive Council and Central Working Committee of TAMPAN Worldwide has suspended the celebration of this year’s International Theatre Day (ITD).
The event was scheduled earlier to hold on Friday, 27th March, 2020 in Osogbo.
The suspension notice was contained in a statement signed by the President of the association,Otunba Bolaji Amusan a.k.a Mr Latin.
In commemorating the 2020 WTD celebration, Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN) under the Leadership of Otunba Bolaji Amusan Mr Latin received a brand new 2018 Toyota Hummer Bus from Chief Jacob Oyegoke (Damjay).
While commending the effort of donor, he said
those who recognise the value and importance of the art from theatre, will continue to contributes to the growth of the industry. He added that what Damjay does demanding and also serve as a wake-up-call for governments, politicians and institutions that are yet to recognise the value of theatre to the people and its enormous potential for socio economic growth.
Meanwhile, the SSA media to TAMPAN National President, Alhaji Waheed Akintayo also inform the General Public that due to the Coronavirus Pandemic Outbreak, there won’t be Filming from March 27th to April 17th 2020. He advised Nigerians and members to stay safe and Prayed that Almighty GOD will Heal our Nation and the World at Large.
