Praise and worship singer, Mrs. Yemisi Oluwadaisi popularly known as ‘Ododo Jesu’ has passed on after battling a brief illness.

She, however, did not leave without a parting message for the world, and an overwhelming blaze of praise unto the Most High God as she transitioned into eternity, according to a statement from her media handler.

The single titled “Baba O” is an oratorical eulogy. She combines a form of Yoruba poetry called ‘Ewi’ with traditional folk music. Ododo Jesu poured out her heart in praise to God on this single and stirred the very essence for which man was created – to praise and glorify God – as she took her final bow from this side of eternity.

It is so surreal that her final words on “Baba O” is ‘Kabiesi o’ which is translated ‘Hail the King,’ as her voice faded into eternity.

Ododo Jesu was a singer, journalist, broadcaster, actress and a Yoruba language translator. Writing music began as a hubby for her at a tender age, growing up in a family where every child was part of the choir. After she got born again in 1981, she began to channel her music writing skills towards ministry.

She passed on to glory at 9:45am on Easter Sunday.

Yemisi Oluwadaisi can be rightly described as a minstrel of note. A voice over artiste, once the presenter of “How E Be” with Ododo on Faaji 106.5Fm, also co-producer and researcher of the morning show “Oyela”, but never lived to see the release of her chart buster single titled Baba O!!! before her sudden demise.

Iya Araba Nla, singing praises of the “Araba Nla ti ko se foju di, (The Most Magnificent God, who cannot be minimized).

The single which is completely Oriki music revealed the dexterity of the artiste in praising God musically as exemplified by her son, Adedamola Oluwadaisi who said, “Mom, you invented yourself as a dutiful mom, an exceptional broadcaster, a loving aunt, a talented voice over artiste and multi talented singer whose Oriki, so synonymously sonorous with or without any drum, would make Kings cheer and dance… But I know God will enjoy your praises better because you have the Oriki capable enough to make God in His magnificence and glory, rise from His throne and honor you”.

Revealing further the person of late Yemisi Oluwadaisi, her former Choir music director, at Winners Chapel, Canaanland, Ota, Pastor Kenny Adeleye said, her great voice, great passion for music and depth of love for God sold her out.
