Ondo State is blessed with sophisticated elites and citizens that understand the game of politics. The state has being playing big role in political evolution of Southwest and Nigeria as a whole. Apart from that the advent of social media has opened up political space, thereby people have access to informative materials every minute.

Therefore, it will be difficult to hide under zoning or religion to promote personal agenda without been noticed. The forthcoming Ondo State governorship election is one of the most anticipated elections in Nigeria and gladiators are already playing the game of politicking.

It’s however imperative to advice gladiators and their supporters to play RIGHT as well as ACT right. Playing right start by marketing your preferred aspirant without demarketing others while ACTING right is by avoid campaign materials or agenda inimical to peace and unity of the state.

To this end, the promoters of zoning should know that the sentiment will lead them no where as zoning has not been major factor in picking Ondo State Governor since return to democratic rule in 1999 and this year election won’t be different.

As of today, governorship aspirants of all participating political parties spread across three Senatorial district. The incumbent governor, Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu who is seeking reelection is from Ondo North while many aspirants from Central and South have purchased nomination of different political parties.

The simple question for zoning agitators is what happened to their voice in 2012 and 2016? They should stop deceiving good people of Ondo state within their personal agenda. Electorate would elect candidate with good track record, competence, experience and people-focused agenda.
