COSEG HAILS YARI OVER POWER SHIFT TO THE SOUTH ~ The Press Tv

Yoruba self determination group,the Coalition of Oodua Self determination groups (COSEG) has applauded former Zamfara state Governor,Alhaji AbdulAzeez YARI over his support for power to shift to the southern part of the country after the reign of president Muhamadu Buhari, describing him as a true nationalist who believes in fairness, equity and due process.

The commendation was given on Thursday in Lagos by COSEG in a press release signed by the chairman of it’s coordinating council, comrade Dayo Ogunlana and Publicity secretary,chief Dele Daramola stressing that the position of the former governor has shown clearly that in the northern part of the country ,there are leaders who are nationalists who will stand for the unity of the country by canvassing for a system and procedure that will benefit all.

Furthermore,the group also maintained that after the tenure of the present administration,it’s only proper and important that power shifts to the south as the mandatory eight years of the north would have been exhausted by President Buhari.

In their submission” let us commend Alhaji AbdulAzeez Yari for his principled stand on the need for power shift to the south in 2023. He has shown that he is a true nationalist who will always stand for equity,fairness and commitment to federal character.

The group stated more that all other zones should also emulate this nationalist by insisting that power should shift to the southern part of the country in the spirit of one Nigeria.

COSEG stressed that with the support given to Mr President in 2015 and 2019,it’s imperative that such good gesture must be reciprocated by conceding the 2023 presidency to the southwest.

“It’s imperative that the presidency should be conceded to the southwest in the spirit fairness and equity.
