IMO STATE: POLICE ARRESTED SUSPECTED ARSONISTS/CULTISTS/ARMED ROBBERS ~ PressTv
You will recall that on 21/02/2021, residents of Oguta woke up to a brazen display of cult related activities which led to the death of one UCHE OGBOKO “M” aka “Agadagbi” and subsequent, burning down of about ten (10) houses.
Sequel to that, the Commissioner of Police, CP Nasiru Mohammed, activated the tactical units of the command to go after the perpetrators of the dastardly act.
On 24/03/2021, operatives of the command’s Quick Intervention Team (QIT) acting on the instructions of the Commissioner of Police, through diligent and painstaking investigation stormed the civic centre, Oguta and arrested nine (9) suspects thus: –
(1). Okorafor Chinyere Favour ‘aka’ Chichi ‘f’ 35 years
(2). Chukwuka Christian ‘aka’ Sephia ‘m’ 41 years old
(3). Ekene Obimara ‘m’ 21 years old
(4). Ogbonna Sampson ‘m’ 24 yrs old.
(5). Ebuka Okoronkwo ‘m’ 23 years old
(6). Darlington Okoronkwo ‘m’ 29 years old
(7). Precious Okoyia ‘m’ (late)
(8). Stanley Okoronkwo ‘m’ ‘aka’ Small Motor (late)
(9). Chinedu Ojiaku ‘m’ ‘aka’ Chicken (late)
(10). Aseme Chimezie “AK” Police ‘m’ 37 years old
At the point of arrest, the following items were recovered from them: –
(1). Three Pump Action Gun
(2). Two single Barrel rifles
(3). Fourteen live Cartridges
(4). One power Bank
(5). One UBA ATM Card
(6). One MP3 Speaker
(7). Weeds suspected to be marijuana(Indian hemp).
They confessed to the crime and also confessed to have perpetrated the act while avenging the death of one of their member Uche Ogboko ‘aka’ Agadegbi’.
However, Christian Chukwuka confessed that he sold his land and used the proceeds to procure arms for himself and his gang members. Investigation is ongoing.
(2) OBTAINING MONEY UNDER FALSE PRETENCE/FRAUD
On 24th January 2021, Mrs. Nkechi Mmadu ‘f’ approached one George Akanwa owner of Destiny Motherless Babies Home, to get her a baby for adoption. Based on her request, he showed her a baby, of which she accepted to adopt, as a result of that they negotiated and arrived at One Million Naira (N1,000,000.00), which she paid and she was told to go and wait for their call, as they claimed they will hand over the baby to her after helping her procure all the necessary documents.
However, after the payment, the said George refused picking her calls and all efforts to get either the baby or the money proved abortive.
On 8/2/2021, operatives of the State Criminal Investigation Department’s arrested the said George while attempting to defraud Nkechi Mmadu, again unknown to him that the woman he was dealing with is the same woman he defrauded of a Million Naira, as she disguised and used a different number to contact him.
He then went further to bring one Ogechi Amaechi, whom normally bring baby to him in other to deceive prospective foster parents, to ensure they are convinced to part with their money. They were however arrested in the process. Effort is ongoing to arrest other fleeing members of the syndicate.
(3.) ARREST OF RAPE SUSPECT
SUSPECT: Ifeanyi Nwosu ‘M’
VICTIM: Agoabuike Confidence ‘F’ 21 years
On the 18th march, 2021, one Confidence Agoabuike ‘F’ boarded a cyclist to take her from Eziobodo to Ihiagwa, on their way going, the cyclist one Ifeanyi Nwosu ‘m’ diverted towards unknown direction, when the lady complained, he ignored her and continued his journey claiming he was taking a shorter route. He got to a point and stopped and ordered her to come down, which she did, then both started struggling, then he beat her up until she became weak, and he stripped her naked and forcefully had canal knowledge of her.
Consequently she stood up to leave, and Ifeanyi Nwosu held her and attempted to strangle her, and she pleaded and promised never to tell anyone about all that happened, at that point he calmed down and took her to the road from where she found her way home, unfortunately for him she had already taken cognizance of the Registration number of his motorcycle (KET 30 QR), she then reported to the station, and he was then arrested. He will be charged to court accordingly.
