EMERGENCY RESPONSE : NSCDC LAGOS COMMAND AVERTS OIL EXPLOSION – Evacuates sack bags of PMS ~ PressTv

In accordance with the corps’ statutory functions, as provided, by the NSCDC Ammended Act, of 2007, establishing the corps, to assist, in the maintenance of peace and order and in the protection and rescuing of the civil population during the period, of emergency, amongst others, the operatives of the corps, in Lagos responds swiftly, to burst illegal oil theft and evacuate the sack bags of petrol motor spirit (PMS) syphoned by suspected vandals, at the Idowu – Egba, area of Lagos State.

Some suspected vandals attempts, to cart away sack bags of Petrol Motor Spirit ( PMS), popularly, known as petrol, via a swampy water and hectic route, in the Idowu – Egba, Abule Onilu area, of Lagos State, at about 07:00hrs on Sunday 28th March, 2021. The Command responds swiftly, to stop the vandals, from having a free day, as emergency call reaches the Command, over the evil and dastard act, of the vandals.

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Lagos State Command, Commandant, Commandant Ayeni PK, MSC MBA ANIM ACIA, upon receiving the emergency signal, through the Command’s robust intelligence network, directs the ever ready Anti – vandal unit, of the command, to respond swiftly and accordingly, against the evil and dastard act, of the vandals, in order to secure lives and property and avert oil explosion, in the environment.

The vandals flee upon sighting the combatant team of the Anti – vandal operatives of the corps, in Lagos. Thereafter, the team enlightens, educates the civil populace of the dangers, involved, in oil theft and pipeline vandalism and other notorious acts. The team evacuates the sack bags filled with PMS, by the vandals, from the swampy watery route.

The Commandant says that the effects of oil explosion is absolutely negative, in all its ramifications. One of which, leads to loss of lives, economic damage, loss of property and environmental degradation, just to mention a few. The Commandant, Lagos State Command, avows emphatically that the command will not rest on its oars, in ensuring that it rid off the state of vandals and criminal elements that may become threat to the sustainable peace and security, of lives and property, of citizens, in the state.

Finally, the Commandant enjoins residents, in Lagos State to see security as a collective business. He asks the citizens to cooperate with the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Lagos State Command, in the area of intelligence and information gathering, so that criminal activities will be eradicated, in the state completely and absolutely.
