It is a general quote that “Whatever you do for me without me is against me.” The Christian community was never in any way previously consulted in Nigeria about membership of any Islamic organisation in Nigeria. Therefore, the Vice Chancellor of Christian Judicial Research Institution (CJRI), Prof. Ezekiel Nyenwegwe University, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Bishop Professor Alubi Worusa, has denied Nigerian Christians membership of any Islamic organisation towards islamization of Nigeria whether nationally, or world-wide internationally; in a sworn affidavit, stating that it is in the interest of justice, peaceful and harmonious co-existence of all the peoples of Nigeria.
The Bishop Prof., a Barrister who is also the President of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Ecclesiastical Affairs (NSCEA) working alongside with His eminence, Rev. Dr. Sampson Ayokunle, the President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and the Chancellor of NSCEA disclosed that the declaration, sworn affidavit and this publication have become imperative, so as not to be misconstrued in some quarters whether nationally or internationally; that Christians in Nigeria, a multi-religious and secular state contrary to the constitution of the country; are now being part of any form of involvements, participation, membership whether in part or in full, overt or covert, in connection with Muslims, Islam or islamization of Nigeria or Nigeria as an Islamic state.
The affidavit sworn at the Registry in Port Harcourt has since been followed by an official DISCLAIMER, jointly signed by the Chairman of Elders Council, NSCEA, Pa. Prof. Olusola Ajolore, the Secretary General, Bishop Amb. Mercy Olufunmilayo Adesanya Davies, Bishop Prof. Alubi Worusa Esq., as well as Arch Bishop Dr. Ben Nimi John Fyneface and Rt. Rev. Dr. Micheal Amamieye in their different official capacities on the Executive board of NSCEA.
The DISCLAIMER by Nigerian Supreme Council for Ecclesiastical Affairs (NSCEA) thus stated as follows: THE DISCLAIMER: We at the Nigerian Supreme Council for Ecclesiastical Affairs (NSCEA) and the entire Christians in Nigeria are the claimant herein, and we make this claim in good faith as individuals and as a group.
That we wish to affirm that we the entire Nigerian Christendom known as the Body of Christ in the entire Nigerian nation from the West, East, South and North, in the six geopolitical zones of the nation of over three hundred (300) ethnic tribes and over five hundred (500) languages present in Nigeria, West Africa, as represented by the Nigerian Supreme Council for Ecclesiastical Affairs (NSCEA) and all other Christian leaders here present and in proxy;
That as we rise from the joint meeting of the Christian leaders and elders in Nigeria, the NSCEA Council with Elders of the Executive Board of Nigerian Supreme Council for Ecclesiastical Affairs (NSCEA), and representatives of Christian Judicial Research Institute (CJRI), chaired by the Chairman of Elders Council of NSCEA, Pa. Prof. Olusola Ajolore and co-chaired by the President of NSCEA, Bishop Prof. Alubi Worusa Esq., so held as scheduled at our Secretariat, on Sunday 14th. February, 2021 at FCT, Abuja, Nigeria;
That we declare and affirm that we hereby resolved and agreed in unison, following critical deliberations on the Federal Republic of Nigeria and documents on Navy Commodore Ebitu Ukiwe as regards the issue of Organisation of Islamic Conference (OIC) not ever discussed at any National Executive meetings or parliaments in the past, that we citizens of Nigeria hereby dissociate ourselves, our children, born and unborn, from any and every form of involvement, participation, membership whether in part or in full, overt or covert, in connection with Muslims, Islam or islamization of Nigeria and Nigeria as an Islamic state, but a multi-religious and secular state as in the constitution;
That we disassociate ourselves and all our heirs from anything and everything that has been signed anywhere before, now or shall thereafter be signed as:
- Nigeria membership of Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
- Nigeria membership of Islamic Military Alliance to Fight Against Terrorism.
- Nigeria membership of Development ‘8’ otherwise called (Eight Developing Islamic Countries).
- Nigeria membership of Islamic Development Bank.
- Nigeria membership of Islamic Bond otherwise known as SUKUK or funds from Islamic Development Bank, etc.,
Whether by individual(s), or group(s), representative(s), organisation(s), association(s) or government(s) or such as it may be towards islamization of Nigeria and Nigeria as an Islamic state.
That we verily believe that it is in the interest of justice, peaceful and harmonious co-existence of all the peoples of Nigeria, towards restructuring or regionalisation, that as we as a group and individuals are committed to our faith, our covenant with the Almighty God, that Jesus Christ is Lord forever, and that on the freedom of Religion and Religious worship and association provisions of the Nigerian constitution we stand.
That any previous information is hereby declared null and void and that all relevant authorities should take note; that this disclaim is made for record and official purposes and the general public should please take note.
That we make this disclaim conscientiously believing the same to be true and correct.
