“There is nothing Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC) can achieve without the support of Security agencies, especially Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC)”. Said the INEC resident electoral Commissioner in OYO State, Mr Mutiu Agboke llb.”
As INEC set for continuation of voters registration in the Country and OYO State in particular. The resident electoral Commissioner in OYO State Mr Mutiu Agboke today visit the Command of NSCDC to seek for more support from the Corps as it has been before in the past.
The State REC commended the officers and men of OYO NSCDC for their professional role played in the last general election as NSCDC stood their ground to be non partisan during the 2019 general election in the State. “We have to come and seek for your support because your organisation was outstandingduring the conduct of the 2019 generalelection”. Agboke stated.
Meanwhile, in his response the State Commandant of NSCDC in Oyo Command CC Michael Adaralewa appreciate the coming of the State resident electoral commissioner and assured him of the Command readiness to work with INEC at all time. “It’s our mandate to maintain Peace and Order in the Country and we shall continue to do just that”. Commandant Michael Adaralewa replied. He maintained that the peace enjoying in Oyo State is what he wanted to build on and to surpass what his predecessor has done in term of Security.
