Oyo NSCDC, Commences forensic Evaluation for Arms bearing personnel in Oyo state.The state commandant Adaralewa Michael made this known today at the command Headquatres Agodi Ibadan while declaring open the forensic Evaluation of the 1,550 armed bearing personnel of Oyo state command in various units and departments such as Agro-Rangers,Counter Terrorism ,Armed Squad,regular officers female armed squard undergoing training,and operations to mention but few.
Commandant Adaralewa said that the Evaluation became necessary to ensure that Armed bearing personnel are well behave and discipline wherever they are on duty and when relating with the members of the public, He added that, this falls within the core policy of the Commandant General, Dr Ahmed Abubakar Audi mni to rejig, revamp, resuscitate, restructure and repositioning of the Corps for better service to the Nation.
Dr olawale Folarin who represented Dr Tersoo Shaapera OC Forensic and Behavioral Unit of National headquarters of the, Nigeria Security And Civil Defence Corps.stated that psychological profiling and forensic evaluation of the arms bearing personnel is to assess the type of personnel NSCDC is working with in terms of their Intelligence Quotient (IQ) for them to deliver effectively responsibilities assigned to them as well as having comprehensive data of all the armed bearing staff.
He added it’s important to test the arms bearing personnel to know the psychological balance or imbalance of the officers so as to hand arms and weapons to those whose brains and psyche are okay and normal for effective service delivery and for the Corps to achieve greater success.


The convener ,the OC Forensic and Behavioral Unit of Oyo State command DSC Olaniregun Jude explained that the psychological Evaluation of personnel in Oyo state was precede by 4th annual sensitisation Lecture with the theme “Forensic: An Emerging Tool at the disposal of the justice system in Nigeria, during which the Honorable chief Judge of Oyo State, Justice Munta Abimbola did justice to lecture on the role of Judiciary in the use and application of forensics in criminal matter encourage investigating officers to clear their biases before interrogation, give fair hearing to suspect and apply forensic with integrity in criminal and civil matters.
Other speaker at the 4th annual sensitisation lecture is the Commissioner of Police in Oyo State who was represented by Superintendent of Police (SP) Yusuf Babatunde OC finger print who lecture on the Application of forensic in the investigation of criminal cases.
Also, Mr Olayinka Esan EsQ Chairman, Nigeria Bar Association Ibadan branch who was represented by Kazeem Adekunle Gbadamosi Esq.speak on the use of forensic evidence in Criminal cases Defense. Dr Orijeme Emuobosa Senior lecturer Department of Archaeology and Anthropology University of Ibadan delivered lecture on the use and Application of forensic Patymology in Criminal investigation.
