OYO NSCDC TRAINS 120 PRIVATE GUARDS ~ PressTv

The Oyo State Command of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), has trained over one hundred and two (120) private guards from twenty eight Private guard Companies in the state .

This was made known by the Oyo State Commandant Adaralewa Michael today at Abiodun Sandey hall Area A command Iyaganku Ibadan during the opening of three days training organised for registered private guard companies in the state to tackle insecurity with the theme” Strengthening Private Guard Companies for National Security”

In her welcome Address DC Adegoke Folashade HOD encouraged the guards not to be ashamed of their job as they are very important persons to be reckons with in Security sectors of our nation while contributions cannot be underestimate hence the need for them not to compromise on the task given to them. “Security is everybody business to ensure peaceful and safe society “she said
Declaring open the training, NSCDC Commandant Adaralewa Micheal Akintayo said private guards were often posted to sensitive areas such as banks,schools, hospitals, private property, etc,therefore, there is need for them to be a step ahead of criminals through training from supervising agency especially NSCDC that is established to do so.

He added that Security consciousness on earlier warning and early response signals for security providers is important to curb crime and forestall crisis.

Commandant Adaralewa who was represented by his 2i/c DC Femi Ete said for guards to supervise sensitive beats where different types of individuals visit for one activity or the other and as such it behoves on them to alert law enforcement agencies to any infraction suspected or noticed for necessary action.

The Chairman of the Association of Licensed Private Security Practitioners of Nigeria (ALPSPN), Mr Seyi Alaba, said: “The association appreciate NSCDC for being proactive to train guards at this period of insecurity in our nation and to strengthen the standard of private security in the country, as it is done in other parts of the world.”Your welfare and renumeration will be look into come 2022 by the Association”.He said

The State Commandant later enjoined the participants and the owners of the Private Security firms to take proactive steps in maintaining what has impacted in them for the stability of Security of the Country.
