….. 75 year old widow vs.David Alabi: Community members protest against CAC Pastor over plan to kidnap widow
It was palpable tension on Sunday morning at Papa Ashafa Street of Dopemu area of Lagos State, when the people of the community troop out in numbers to protest against one Pastor David Alabi who was planning to kidnap a 75 year old widow, Alhaja Ayisatu Alasela last Saturday over a plot to take over Alasela residential building illegally.
The community members foiled the kidnapping attempt of the widow on Saturday and lead to the protest in front of the Alabi’s Church which he claimed to be presiding over in the area on following morning of Sunday.
It was learnt that the members of the community embarked on the protest against Alabi in order to avoid religious crisis between Muslims and Christians in the area.
Alabi, who claimed to be in- charge of Christ Apostolic Church(CAC), situated at N0.5, Hassan Adejobi Street, Papa Ashafa, Off Mulero Bus Stop, along Oyewole Road, Dopemu, Lagos.
It would be recalled that Alabi and one Mr.Wole Oshodi have been trying many tricks to take over the residential building of Alasela illegally since 2020 which the Lagos State civil rights group blocked.
Oshodi, who also claimed to be a member of the Church, live at No.10 Alhaji Adebambo Street, Orile Agege, Lagos and the residential building of Alasela located at No.8, Bakare Opesha Street, Papa Ashafa, Agege, Lagos.
While speaking on the matter, two members of the community, Mr. Akeem(+2348060859293) and Mr. Yahaya (+2348101037236), that participated in the protest, disclosed that it has been a satanic habitual character of the so called Pastor David Alabi and few members of the Church to extort some members of the community in the area, explaining that this action has made one landlord at Hassan Adejobi Street to sell out his residential building.
They maintained that “members of the community had woke up from their slumber to fight against the unlawful act of Alabi and his followers, adding that if Alabi and partners in crime were not curbed, they might precipitate religious crisis that could lead to breaking down of law and order in the area”.
Part of their earlier tricks being adopted to take over the Alasela house illegally, was to use the government officials from Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) led by one Tunji to frustrate Alasela’s widow by claiming the LASEPA letter to the David Alabi’s Church over environmental pollution as Alasela’s house and Alabi and his friend-in- crime, Wole Oshodi also plan to use the criminal action against the Alasela to evict the old widow from the house of her late husband and later resorts to Magistrate Court by bringing illegal application that Alasela’s widow should pay them sum of One Million Naira (N1,000,000) for no just reason than against their ungodly antics.
Believing that when the poor widow could not pay the sum, they would put the house of her husband “For-Sale” before the civil rights group, Save Lagos Group (SLG) led by its Convener, Comrade Adeniyi Alimi Sulaiman,
foiled the every antics by Alabi and Oshodi to take over the said residential building illegally.
Also employed the service of men of Nigeria Police Force (NPF) attached to Lagos State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti-Yaba led by Yetunde Longe ,Ola(+2349091221315), Reuben (+2347014257498) and CSP Oke, an Officer in-charge of D7 department.
It was also revealed that they have approached the Mediation Centre after approaching the Magistrate Court in the State for their illegal actions
but they also failed in all ramifications in their attempts by failing to come to Magistrate Court for more than four(4) times their case had been mentioned, adding that three family members of Alasela were defendants including 75 year old Alhaja Ayisatu Alasela and her two children.
According to Alasela family members as defendants in the case through their Legal Counsel, Barrister Chuks H. Reuben(+234 8034799791) in their response to the Claimants (Alabi and Oshodi), they told the Court that “Alabi has his Church building in a residential area and mounted loud speakers outside the Church building, consequently causing loud noise which interference residents ordinary comfort in 1st defendant’s house during their Church activities both day and night”.
“The loud speakers mounted by the 1st Claimant(Alabi) is direct opposite my house and the loud noise coming out from the said speakers cause discomforts and inconveniences to the residents of my house.
” The said noise emanates from the Church activities conducted both day and night by the 1st claimant with other members of his church.
I brought the attention of the 1st claimant to the loud noise but he failed and refused to abate the said noise then, I lodge a complaint at the office of Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA), Alausa, Ikeja.
“That a letter dated 15/06/2020, ordering the 1st claimant to abate the said noise pollution and stop using the building for Church activities and same was addressed and served on the 1st claimant’s Church building but Alabi refused to comply.
The defendants then rely on the copy of the letter dated 15/ 06/ 2021 upon the trial of this case.”
The defendants then prayed the Court to give an order directing the 1st claimant to cause forthwith to stop operating Church activities at the said addressed building for constituting nuisance in the neighborhood and to stop noising pollution emanating from the Church activities.
The defendants also requested for an order restraining the 1st and 2nd claimants, his agents, servants, privies or representatives from harassing, intimidating, and molesting the three defendants and the cost of litigation should be N500,000.
Recalling that the civil rights group (SLG) called for the intervention of the State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu and the State
Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr.Moyosore Jubril Onigbanjo(SAN), on
the subject matter by constituting an Independent panel of Enquiry to
lay the matter to rest once and for all, before it could lead to another dimension of sercarscho and carcophony of noise that could lead to the locomotive religious buohaha.
Save Lagos Group (SLG) disclosed that the new antics of the duo, who
had earlier failed on two to four attempts to take over the said residential
building illegally from the widow of late Alasela family by
approached the Ogba Magisterial Court District to demand for One Million Naira(N1,000,000) from the 75 year widow (Alhaja Ayisatu Alasela) and her two sons.
It alleged that the duo used a Customary Court Criminal case with a Suit No:-OALCDA/018/CR/2019, Between Orile Agege Local Council
Development Area & Orile Agege Health Department as Complainants versus Pastor Alabi David & Hon. Wole Oshodi as Defendants to file
an application against the poor 74(now 75) year old widow, Ayisatu Alasela
and his two sons by turning themselves to be claimants before the
magisterial court district Holden at Ogba on a Alaselas knew nothing about.
Thinking that only Ogba Magisterial court district will give them
Jankara and Kangaroo order to compel the poor widow and his two sons to pay one million naira (N1,000,000.00) to the two criminal defendants in a Customary Court turn themselves to claimants in a
Magisterial Court Suit No :- MSC /69/2021 and they knew that the poor widow
with her sons will not be able to pay the sum where they will lure the
Magistrate court to confiscate the residential building of Alasela
Family for auctioning and they will also be the person to buy it
later.
Alhaja Alasela was a widow of Late Alhaji Alasela who died Fifteen(15) years ago , precisely, 2nd day of April , 2007 and left the
residential building for Alhaja Alasela and her children and they have
been living in the residential building before the death of their
patriarch.
