ICCI: ‘IKODIV 2023 TRADE FAIR’ Begins March 26, With Over 100 Exhibitors Registered

Following the objective of promoting commerce, industry, and the economic growth of Ikorodu Division, Ikorodu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) has prepared to kick off its annual TRADE FAIR, scheduled to hold from March 26 to April 2, at the Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH), Ikorodu.

The Chamber has reiterate commitment in supporting businesses networking. In a Press conference on Wednesday March 23, held at the Boardroom of the Lagos State University Of Science and Technology in Ikorodu.

‘IKODIV 2023 TRADE FAIR’ is a joint partnership of the ICCI and LASUSTECH, has full support of Lagos State Government, State Ministry of Commerce, Industry & Cooperatives.

The PRESSTV can reports that the second edition of ‘IKODIV TRADE FAIR’ is expected to accommodate more than 100 vendors, with affordable exhibition stands between N20,000 and N90,000 based on exhibitors capacity. The fair provides a platform for MSMEs to showcase their products and services, B2B network and engage in business transactions.

The President of ICCI, Sir Engr. Chief R.O Shoderu, stated that the Chamber, had over the years worked tirelessly to create avenues of growth and improvement for businesses to thrive, has ‘ICCI’ primary objective is aim to promote continuous support for growth and improvements of MSMEs in Ikorodu Division.

“We are convinced that promoting entrepreneurship and support for MSMEs is crucial to the economic growth of our community.” He added.

The Vice Chancellor of LASUSTECH, Prof. Olumuyiwa Odusanya, said support for MSMEs is the fulcrum for economic growth of any nation.We’re glad that our transmutation has added impetus rather than distraction to the gestation of chambers and the Trade Fair.

“As a university we know this is one of the critical components of developing an economy, and if Nigeria will improve, we must consider MSMEs.

However, the theme of this year’s fair is very important, ‘MSMEs’ are really the most important part of any economy. Data have shown that we had not less than 41 million MSMEs in Nigeria. Even if one employs just one person, that is about 20 per cent of the Nigerian population employed. He stated

“Anyone, who ignores this segment of the economy is ignoring the human capital and financial development of the country.We, therefore, want to recognise the IKODIV Trade Fair starting next week and encourage everyone to support it,” Odusanya added.

The chairman of the ‘IKODIV Trade Fair,’ Mr Seye Adedipe, lauded the immense recognition the fair had received so far.

“It is my pleasure to welcome us to the IKODIV 2023 Trade Fair, it is one of the most anticipated event of the chamber. As chairman of the Trade Fair organising committee, I am pleased to announce that we have gone above and beyond the call of duty to ensure that this year’s fair exceeds all expectations.”

“The team has put in countless hours of hard work and dedication to bring an exceptional event that showcases the very best our local businesses have to offer.

“With over 100 exhibitors and counting from various industries and sectors, the fair promises to be a hub of innovation, creativity and economic opportunity.” Adedipe said

Past President of ICCI, Prof. Emeritus Kunle Ade Wahab, urge the media practitioners present at the press conference, to help in diseminating the information gathered to the grassroots – reach out to everyone to visit the Trade Fair.

As the Chamber embark on this year’s edition of IKODIV Trade Fair, Ikorodu Chamber Of Commerce & Industry (ICCI) is looking forward to receive Mr.Babajide Sanwo-olu the Executive Governor of Lagos State at its opening ceremony.
