Borussia Mönchengladbach defender Marvin Friedrich has complained about little playing time which could lead him into trouble with the Bundesliga club.
“We will deal with it internally,” a Gladbach spokesperson told dpa on Wednesday but stopped short of confirming sanctions such as a fine or a warning.
Friedrich, 27, told Wednesday’s edition of the Sport Bild weekly “that I am absolutely dissatisfied with the situation and feel zero trust” at the club.
The centre back came to Gladbach in January 2022 from Union Berlin on a contract until 2026 but has rarely featured under their new coach Daniel Farke. It was recently revealed that Gladbach didn’t allow him to leave in January.
“I went to the coach and the manager a few weeks ago to tell them about my dissatisfaction. Both expressed understanding but nothing has changed for me,” Friedrich said.
He new appears set to press for a summer transfer because “something has to change for me. It can not continue look this.”
