Nollywood has been thrown into mourning following the death of veteran actor and filmmaker, Alhaji Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, at the age of 66.

The actor death was confirmed on Sunday, August 23, 2026, with reports stating that his daughter, Kira Taiwo, announced his passing during an emotional Instagram live session, Presstv News Nigeia monitored.

Alhaji Taiwo Hassan death came days after his family publicly disclosed that the veteran actor was battling stage-four cancer and appealed to medical professionals and well wishers for assistance in securing further treatment.

According to reports, his daughters, Kira and Lima Taiwo, had made emotional appeals after doctors reportedly informed the family that chemotherapy could no longer be administered because of his condition.
