KADUNA DECLARATION: ARODIOGBU HAILS TINUBU AS 'FUEL SUBSIDY MONSTER KILLER'

The National Vice Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) South East and The APC PCC South East, Prof. Ijeomah Arodiogbu, has described President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the courageous leader who finally killed Nigeria’s long-standing “fuel subsidy monster,” following the President’s firm and unambiguous declaration at the APC Kaduna campaign flag-off.

Reacting to the President’s categorical statement, Prof. Arodiogbu said the Kaduna outing marked another historic milestone in the nation’s economic journey. He quoted President Tinubu’s words with strong approval:

“The fuel subsidy is firmly behind us. No more corruption! No more falsification of invoices! No more lies! No more fuel smuggling!”

According to the APC South East leader, the declaration captures the boldness, clarity, and resolve that have defined the Renewed Hope administration since its inception, Presstv News Nigeria can report.

“For decades, the fuel subsidy was a giant black hole that swallowed national resources, enriched a privileged few, and left the majority of Nigerians in perpetual hardship. It became a monster that fed on corruption, invoice falsification, and large-scale fuel smuggling. President Tinubu looked that monster in the face and killed it. That is the kind of leadership Nigeria has long needed.”

Prof. Arodiogbu noted that the removal of the opaque and abuse-ridden subsidy regime has permanently shut the door on the organised fraud that previously drained the nation’s wealth. He emphasised that the savings from the subsidy removal are now being channelled into critical areas of national development, including infrastructure, social investment programmes, agricultural revitalisation, education, and healthcare under the Renewed Hope Agenda.

“What we are witnessing is not just a policy decision; it is a fundamental reset of governance. The era of lies, inflated claims, and cross-border smuggling in the downstream petroleum sector is over. Asiwaju has shown that Nigeria can confront difficult truths, endure temporary pains, and still emerge stronger and more self-reliant,” he stated.

The APC National Vice Chairman South East further observed that the Kaduna declaration has reinforced public confidence in the President’s economic reforms, especially among progressive forces across the country.

He called on party faithful, traditional institutions, youth, women, and stakeholders in the South East and beyond to stand solidly behind President Tinubu as he consolidates the gains of these difficult but necessary decisions.

“History will remember Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the leader who had the courage to kill the fuel subsidy monster and free Nigeria from its stranglehold. The promise of a more transparent, productive, and prosperous nation is firmly on course. A second term will allow this transformative work to be completed for the benefit of all Nigerians,” Prof. Arodiogbu concluded.
