The All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council (APC PCC) Faith Directorate will host a national Prayer Walk for Nigeria’s peaceful and credible elections, as part of its ongoing faith-based mobilisation in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.

This was announced by Hon. Princess Gloria Akobundu, PhD, Secretary of the APC PCC Faith-Based Mobilisation (Christians) and a key member of the APC PCC Women Mobilisation Wing, Presstv News Nigeria can report.

Princess Akobundu stated that the Prayer Walk will bring together church leaders, Christian associations, women fellowships, youth groups, and other people of faith in a solemn intercession for peace, unity, and democratic stability ahead of the 2027 general elections.

“The Prayer Walk is a spiritual call to action,” she stated. “As Christians, we have a responsibility to intercede for our nation, asking God for peaceful elections, protection of lives and property, and the wisdom to choose leaders who will continue the path of national progress. We believe that prayer must go hand-in-hand with responsible civic participation.”

She explained that the Prayer Walk will be organised in phases across the six geopolitical zones, with coordinated activities at national, zonal, and state levels. The exercise will feature processions, prayer sessions, scripture readings, and messages of peace, tolerance, and national unity.

Hon. Akobundu emphasised that the initiative is deliberately non-partisan in its spiritual focus, even as it forms part of the broader mobilisation for continuity under the Renewed Hope Agenda.

“This Prayer Walk is about lifting Nigeria before God, promoting peaceful conduct, and encouraging eligible citizens to register, collect their Permanent Voter Cards, and vote peacefully. The Church must remain a moral compass and a force for stability.”

She called on Christian leaders across the five blocs of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), as well as WOWICAN, YOWICAN, and other faith-based platforms, to mobilise their members and participate fully in the forthcoming Prayer Walk.

Hon. Akobundu noted that the Faith Directorate will work closely with church hierarchies, CAN structures, and grassroots Christian networks to ensure the programme is orderly, inclusive, and impactful.

Further details on dates, routes, and participation guidelines are expected to be released in the coming days as the Faith Directorate finalises coordination with zonal and state structures.
