NCDC Confirms Two Suspected Ebola Cases in Adamawa Tested Negative
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (NCDC) has confirmed that two suspected Ebola cases reported in Yola, Adamawa State, tested negative following two rounds of laboratory testing.
The agency said it is working closely with the Adamawa State Government to investigate the suspected cases, which were promptly isolated and subjected to laboratory tests.
Presstv News Nigeria learnt that The NCDC clarified that the index case earlier confirmed in the Federal Capital Territory remains the only confirmed Ebola case reported in Nigeria.
The agency urged Nigerians to remain calm and obtain information about the situation only through official government and public health channels.
It also advised anyone experiencing symptoms associated with Ebola, including fever, severe weakness, headache, muscle pain, vomiting, diarrhoea or unexplained bleeding, particularly following possible exposure, to seek immediate medical attention.
The NCDC further urged individuals seeking medical care to provide healthcare workers with relevant travel and contact history to assist with appropriate assessment and response.
