Despite recent attack on his house, the Majority Leader of the Lagos State House of Assembly and representative of Ikorodu Constituency 1, S.O.B Agunbiade hosted his constituency as this year’s Constituency Stakeholders Meeting calls on all social media users to be cautious of incisive posts.
With the theme: POST COVID-19 PANDEMIC; THE CHALLENGES AND PROSPECTS. Agunbiade dissects the various responses of the government at confronting the global pandemic. He said the House approved N20 Billion Covid-19 Intervention fund aimed at managing the effect of the menace.
“The economic headwind generated by the Coviid-19 pandemic also necessitated the approval of the House for the reordering of the year 2020 Budget to provide necessary support for business owners, the vulnerable members of the society and improvement in health care facilities”. The Majority leader stated.
He explained how the House mandated certain committees to ascertain the level of compliance with Coviod-19 protocols as schools and other institutions resume. Agunbiade urges every citizen to obey all regulations guiding the containment of Covid-19 as government takes more steps to bring back life to normal.
Even when some of the materials meant to be shared at the Stakeholders meeting were looted by hoodlums during the recent ENSARS protest, the lawmaker still provides small pack of rice each to all members and guests that attended the meeting held at the Lagos State Polytechnic, Ikorodu.
According Agunbiade, “120 packs of noodles giving to our constituency and which we were supposed to share today and materials meant to be shared to widows during my birthday were looted alongside my personal properties including that of my wife and family. Gladly, police have apprehended some of the looters, including the one that went away with my dog, he was caught with the dog”.
Traditional rulers, community development associations, CDA, trade unions, market women and members of the Ikorodu youths council took turn to express their views as majority harp on the good governance and the need for an improved synergy with government so as to guarantee even development.
