The Institute of Criminology and Strategic Studies led, by it’s Registrar-General, Dr S. A. Adekunle, earlier today decorates the Commandant Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Lagos State Command, Commandant Ayeni PK MSC MBA ANIM ACIA, with the honour of the DISTINGUISHED FELLOW MEMBER OF THE INSTITUTE, in his office, at Alausa – Ikeja, Lagos. The investiture is beign done strictly, in line with Covid- 19 protocols.
The programme involves reading of the citation of the Commandant, decoration, certification, induction and investiture of the Commandant into the Institute as the distinguished fellow member, which is the most prestigious honour, of the Institute, to any personality or person.

The Commandant upon receiving the honour, of his investiture and decoration as the distinguished fellow member of the Institute, foremostly, appreciates the Almighty God, for bringing such a day of honour to pass, in his life and the Institute for deeming it fit, to select him, for the most prestigious honour, of the Institute, which is the distinguished fellow member. He also specially, appreciates the Chairman Governing Council of the Institute of Criminology and Strategic Studies and the former Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Dr Ade Abolurin Phd OFR psc+. He also says that words can not quantify his gratitude, to the former Commandant General and Chairman of Governing Council, of the Institute, whom has been a father and a great and gargantuan inspirator, of excellence and success, for him and many others.

The Registrar-General, of the Institute, Dr S.A. Adekunle when giving his key note address, at the investiture, of the Commandant says that amidst others, the mandate of the Institute, is to train and retrain members. The Institute also identifies various sources of crimes and proffer solutions, before the commission of such crimes. He adjudges that the Commandant Lagos State Command, Commandant Ayeni PK, is one of the best Commandants the corps has produced, in recent times. He affirms that the Commandant is being circumspectly, selected, for this investiture and decoration, without any form of bias and prejudice. His selection is also informed, by his high – level performance and doggedness, in ensuring the security and safety of lives and property, in Lagos State. His hardwork and and dedication, to duty amidst other professional and administrative qualities are also parts of the reasons, for his investiture today, as a distinguished fellow member of the Institute.

In the same vein, the Commandant avows that the investiture, is another inspiration, for him, to do more and give his best to his father land, through the service. He promises, not to rest, on his oars, in the pursuit of security and safety of lives and property, protection of critical national assets of government belonging, to Federal, State and Local Governments and protection oil pipelines, amidst other statutory functions and mandates of the corps, in Lagos State.

The Commandant, Commandant Ayeni PK, also presents a gift to the Registrar-General, of the Institute, on behalf of the Lagos Command, in honour, of his contributions, to human capital development and capacity building, of Nigerians, in the areas of criminology and security. He requests the Institute, to develop a training programme, for the officers and men, of the Command. He believes the training will go a long way, in developing the human capital and resource of officers and aid them, to discharge their duties professionally and sagaciously.

Finally, senior officers present, to witness the investiture, of the Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Lagos State Command, include : 1.DC Obimma Frederick ( 2ic to the Commandant), 2. DC Paul O. Shomide ( HOD Administration), 3. DC Jayeola Margaret ( HOU Anti- Corruption and Transparency Monitoring Unit), 4. CSC Atolagbe Mohammed ( S A to the Commandant), 5. SC Durodola Abdullahi ( HOU Protocol), 6. ASCI Abolurin Oluwaseun O. ( PRO). Additionally, the members of the Institute present at the investiture, include: 1. Dr S. A.
