Group Demands Immediate Sack of Wema Bank MD; ‘Adebise has grossly abused his office as the CEO of Wema Bank PLC and contravened several extant regulations of the CBN’
The Transparency Nigeria Group has asked the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN to immediately dismiss Mr Ademola Adebise, the Chief Executive Officer, CEO of Wema Bank PLC, a tier-3 lender quoted on the NGX.The TNG in a statement signed by its Communications Director, Dahiru Mohammed and made available to SECURITY MONITOR believes that Mr Adebise has grossly abused his office as the CEO of Wema Bank PLC and contravened several extant regulations of the Central Bank of Nigeria.Under Mr Adebise’s watch, Wema Bank allegedly covered up a massive fraudulent scheme perpetrated by companies and proxies of a famous politician and All Progressives’ Congress, APC presidential aspirant.In doing this, Mr Adebise failed in his fiduciary duties and allowed a powerful politician to use Wema Bank as a clearing house for laundered funds.The TNG demands his immediate resignation.
