Calm Down Nigeria Initiative (CDNI) Applaud Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN) For Their Patriotism – Tells Commercial Drivers To Stop Inflating Prices
The Calm Down Nigeria Initiative Team paid unscheduled visits to some local communities in Lagos State, Ikorodu Town, to hear directly from local residents, their concerns and how best to support and alleviate livelihood of the people, encounter a commotion scene at the Ikorodu Bustop close to the Ikorodu Bus Terminal.
An agument between a Bus Driver (name unknown) and the officers of Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN).
The (CDNI) team decided to mediate peace between them. During the course of mediation, the (CDNI) realized the Bus Driver has increased it transport fare from its normal #500 Naria to #700 Naria, to take advantage of the stranded passengers at the Bustop, But the RTEAN Officers refused to let him load his bus with the hike price, insisting the driver must load his bus with the approve #500 other drivers like him has been loading or leave the Bustop empty, which resulted to the argument.
The Driver whom has promise to increase the RTEAN pack fee with extra incentives, if they allow him load his bus with his hike price, but the RTEAN Officers led by Officers Musbau Mabodu refuse to collect the extra incentives.
After hearing from the two parties, the CDNI team meditated peace between them and advice the driver to load his bus with the approved #500 Naria, which he latter agreed.
The CDNI also use the medium to caution the driver and other Nigerians taking advantage of the subsidy remover policy to make life hard on Nigerians to stop this act and support the Country with their patriotism.
