The Federal Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development reportedly expended N522,490,349 on the purchase of guns and ammunition, with the procured items allegedly not delivered.

Presstv News Nigeria learnt that the reported expenditure has raised fresh questions about contract execution, procurement compliance and accountability in the management of public funds.

The expenditure, according to the information available, involved the purchase of firearms and ammunition intended for the ministry’s operations. However, the items were allegedly not supplied despite the payment of the substantial sum.

The case also underscores the need for stronger monitoring of government contracts, particularly those involving public funds and security-related equipment.

Relevant authorities may now be expected to clarify the circumstances surrounding the N522.49 million expenditure, identify the contractor involved, and explain why the procured firearms and ammunition were not delivered.

Further investigation would also be necessary to establish whether the payment was made in full, the status of the contract, and whether any officials or contractors have been held accountable.

More details shortly.
