Caucus 7202 Mega Rally: Abiodun Backs YAYI, Says Adeola Is Ready to Lead Ogun in 2027

The political temperature in Ogun State rose on Thursday as thousands of All Progressives Congress (APC) supporters converged on the Ijebu Ode Stadium for the Caucus 7202 Ogun East Mega Rally, in a major show of strength ahead of the 2027 governorship election.

The rally provided a major platform for the All Progressives Congress (APC) to showcase its grassroots structure and reaffirm support for the party governorship candidate, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, FCA, popularly known as YAYI, as Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun declared him a worthy successor capable of taking Ogun development agenda forward.

Governor Abiodun, who attended the rally alongside Adeola, said the APC candidate possesses the experience, political understanding and capacity required to provide effective leadership and consolidate the gains recorded under the current administration.

Presstv News Nigeria learnt that Gov. Abiodun endorsement further strengthened the message of continuity that dominated the gathering, with party supporters repeatedly expressing confidence in Senator Adeola ability to build on existing achievements while introducing fresh ideas to address emerging challenges.

The arrival of Governor Abiodun and Adeola at the stadium triggered loud cheers from supporters, as the venue became a sea of APC colours and campaign messages.

The event also witnessed the formal unveiling of more than 1,000 support groups under the Caucus 7202 umbrella.

According to the organisers, the groups have been assembled as a coordinated grassroots mobilisation structure to work for the success of APC candidates across the state in the 2027 elections.

A major objective of the mobilisation, they said, is to secure two million votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu from Ogun State, while also delivering victory for the APC’s candidates at the state and national levels.

Adeola Promises Continuity, Stronger Development

Speaking at the rally, Adeola pledged to sustain and improve on the development initiatives of the Abiodun administration if elected governor in 2027.

He assured residents that his administration would prioritise continuity, economic expansion, infrastructure development, job creation and inclusive governance.

Adeola YAYI message resonated with supporters who see his political experience and legislative background as assets that could position him to effectively manage the state growing economic and social demands.

“The APC candidate has emerged as a prominent figure in the party 2027 succession plan, with his supporters positioning him as a candidate capable of combining political experience with a clear understanding of Ogun State development needs.”

For the APC, the Caucus 7202 rally was more than a campaign gathering. It was a demonstration of its organisational strength and an indication that the party is already laying the groundwork for a formidable grassroots campaign ahead of the 2027 polls.

With the unveiling of its extensive support group network and Governor Dapo Abiodun public endorsement of Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, the rally has further elevated YAYI profile as the APC preferred candidate to succeed the incumbent and lead Ogun State into its next phase of development.
